Controlled Chaos Curl Creme Review

The last few weeks I have tested a new styler – the Controlled Chaos Curl Creme. Since I really liked this new product I would like to share my thoughts on it with you.

Even though its consistency is a lot different from the stylers I usually apply to my curls (I usually use gel-like stylers and this one feels more like a conditioner), I fell in love with this product. It helps me to keep the frizz under control even during the past rainy days (the weather in Switzerland is really unpredictable).

This is what my curls look like when using the Controlled Chaos Curls Creme:

How to use the Controlled Chaos Curl Creme

It’s recommended to apply the Controlled Chaos Curls Creme to each curl and comb it it (see different tutorials here). However, I didn’t use it that way simply because this breaks up my clumps. So I applied it to my curls just as I would apply any other styler: I added the Curls Creme to soaking wet hair, then scrunched to get rid of excess water, then plopped for about 10 minutes and finally I diffused my curls with a diffuser (see this video for more details about my washing routine).

I love how the Curl Creme leaves me with soft and defined curls, I will definitely continue to apply it to my curls!

    Hi Sandra,
Never heard of this product but excited to try. I’m not sure if you’ve tried Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper but I definitely recommend! It makes my hair clump beautifully! It’s definitely been a game changer for me and I’m curious what your thoughts on it are.

I use to have strait hair and after six moths of chemotherapy and loosing all my hair now I ended up with CURLS!!

I found your tutorials great since I had no idea how to comb or dry my hair now, so keep explaining how to treat my curls and recommending products please!!

I also love your hair color, could you tell me what color is the one you use?

    thank you so much!

Hi Barbara, unfortunately I don’t know what color my hairdresser uses – I always get my highlights done by a hairdresser…

Does your hairdresser do anything special to highlight your hair compared to straight hair? or do you treat them with a deep conditioning treatment after? I’m worried highlights would dry my curls out and make them a frizzy mess.

No, unfortunately I haven’t! But I’ll try to get one of their bottles, I’m not sure whether they ship to Europe

Not for women of color. Sticky and hard. Not a product for bi racial women. This product is more like a liquid hair spray.

If you have curly thick hair Iso bouncy curl is softer and better even jessie curl is good.

The 60 % of curly hair girls are black women and us mixed race.

This co has no face book black models or you tube reviews from women of color.

I just saw this product on the tv show Shark Tank. It is expensive!!! Do you think it’s worth it compared to your Mop Top routine?

Hi Ashley, I know – it’s such a pity that all these great curl products are this expensive… I think that the Curl Crème is a great product, that’s worth giving a try! Personally, I like the Mop Top styler just a little more. However, it mostly depends on what ingredients your curls prefer, so maybe it’s the other way round for you 🙂
