Hi curlies! I finally found a hairdresser I completely trust to cut my curls perfectly. I am beyond excited as finding a hairdresser specialized in cutting curly hair is a real struggle in Switzerland.
I have been wondering whether or not I should get my curls cut by a new, specialist hairdresser for quite a while before I finally made my decision to do so. I suppose that seeing a new hairdresser is not only exciting but also a bit scary at the same time. The more so if you have curly hair, as most curlies have experienced at least one disastrous haircut before.
Do I really want see a new hairdresser?…
I did and I have no regrets about it! I already had a good feeling about the hairdresser I wanted to try not only because she has gorgeous curls herself, but mostly because I looked at the before/after pictures she posts on her website (they really are amazing)! So I am absolutely glad I had chosen to see her in Lucerne – have a look at my new haircut (after washing and styling them a few days later):

My new haircut with lots of layers in it
Why I liked this hairdresser so much
Fabienne is not only a great hairdresser specialized in cutting curly hair, she also is a very warm person who made me feel welcome the second I walked into her salon. After quickly looking at my curls and talking about the haircut I had in mind (only cut a little bit to keep my length) she started to cut my curls dry: curl by curl. While doing so she explained what she was doing, which is what made me feel comfortable and I didn’t need to worry about her messing up my curls at all. She then finished by washing my curls and styling them with the Mixed Chicks leave-in (note to self: I have to get that product!). And the result was a great haircut and frizz-free curls!
Cutting curly hair in layers really does the trick
Are you currently struggling with frizzy hair that just does not want to stay in clumps? If so, getting a good haircut might help with that. When done properly cutting curly hair in lots of layers (from top to bottom), so as to prevent them from looking like a pyramid and also to get rid of unnecessary frizz. Take a look at the before/after pictures Fabienne took to see the huge difference a good haircut makes.

The haircut also allows me to change the positions of my parting line for additional volume
So if you live in Switzerland, I really recommend you to get your hair cut by Fabienne, as she is just the perfect hairdresser for my curls – and maybe also for yours 🙂

I’m so excited to hear about this salon. I live in Switzerland too and have been struggling to find a hairdresser that cuts curls dry and has experience in layering. I’ll definitely try to make an appointment with Fabienne. The before/after pictures look amazing!

Love your site Sandra! Thanks for all the information you share for curly heads! I’m on the search for a curly hair stylist and your article was helpful. I live in Indialantic, FL which is near Melbourne and about an hour from Orlando. If any of your readers have a stylist recommendation I’d love to hear about them. Thought I’d just put that out there, it’s a small world these days and it never hurts to ask. I’m desperately trying to work out the “kinks” and develop a life long and healthy relationship with my curls. We tend to fight a lot. ☺️

Hi! I have very similar hair to you but am having an awful time finding a hairdresser. Can you share how your hairdresser cuts your hair? I’d really love to be able to relay this to my hairstylist. Thank you!!!!

Hi there! I think the most important to tell your hairdresser is to cut many layers: from top to bottom and I also like having layers from the front to the back. This way you can avoid the triangle head… I think when you tell your hairdresser to cut your curls this way, that should do the trick!

Just back from my hair dresser at Glatzentrum who used to give me a fair hair cut. This time I asked a shorter cut and more layers and now don’t know what to do. It is horrible, and I desperately look for a stylist who can fix an ugly short curly haircut.

Any chance you can tell me where you found your curl specialist? I live in Switzerland and I’m sick of these people butchering my kids’ hair!
