Curly hair traveling guide: What accessories to pack

After having already talked about what products to take along while traveling and sharing my traveling hairstyle diary, I’d like to also address what accessories you don’t want to be missing on your next vacation!

Whenever you’re packing your suitcase to go on vacation, there’s a trade-off between packing too much and not having everything you need with you. To keep myself from bringing along too many accessories, I limit myself to only one small (cosmetic) bag. These are the thing I always take along:

  • Several hair ties: I don’t only pack more than one hair tie, but I always pack a variety of hair ties: thin and thicker ones. Depending on what hairstyles you’d like to do, you’ll either need thin or thick hair ties – so the best thing is to bring a few of each. Especially, if you’re using hair ties without any metal parts, I suggest you to make sure you have enough of them with you, as they have a tendency of breaking apart easily.
  • Several bobby pins: I recommend you to pack two different kinds of bobby pins: the ones you use to fix little strands of hair falling out of your hairstyles and the ones you use to keep short curls out of your face. You can never pack too many bobby pins, because they can easily get lost in your curls… 😉
  • 1 donut: If you also like to put your curls into a perfect bun, packing a donut is essential.
  • 1 hair clip: The easiest second day hairstyle is putting them into a half-updo by simply using a hair clip

Last but not least, the one thing I wouldn’t want to miss: my blow-dryer! I always pack my blow-drier and the according diffuser when I’m traveling, because hotels most likely don’t have a diffuser.

That’s it, that’s everything I pack into my suitcase when I’m traveling!

I also pack my shower cap! It’s awesome if I just want to wash my body and not my hair for a couple days 🙂

Satin pillowcase! I can wear my second-day hair down if I sleep on a satin pillowcase (I put my hair in a ponytail on top of my head for sleep too).

What a good idea – I’ve never thought of it before. I will definitely pack this when traveling the next time
